Panchkarma
Panchkarma comes from the Sanskrit term ‘Panch’-five and Karma- which means five actions or therapies. Ayurveda is well known for its detoxification and rejuvenation practices, known as panchakarma. It is a way of cleansing and restoring physical and psychological health by using the clinical system of the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
In simple terms, Panchkarma is like a reboot button on your computer. You are required to reboot every time there is something wrong with the system. The refreshment can only be given by detoxifying your body.

The main key element during Panchkarma is metabolism, toxins or Ama and immunity. After eliminating the toxins from the body, the process of rejuvenation plays a very important role to enhance immunity.

Panchkarma is also recommended for a healthy person. Anyone can take panchkarma therapy for rejuvenation and detoxification. It is particularly recommended during the season change.
There are two main modalities of Ayurvedic treatment. The aim of both modalities is the same “ Bring back the equilibrium of Doshas in the body”.
-
Sanshaman Chikitsa ( pacification treatment)
-
Sanshodhana Chikitsa ( purification treatment )
Sanshodhan Chikitsa is again divided into two types
-
Internal purification is done by Panchkarma
-
External purification is done by massage etc.
